Actors’ Mission Presents “The Shape of Things” by Neil Labute

A contemporary drama

Actors’ Mission is proud to announce its 40th production and its first run of 2013. After the successful completion of our 10th Anniversary Season, all of us at Actors’ Mission are ready and excited to start on the next ten years.

“The Shape of Things” by the amazing Neil LaBute will be performed two weekends: February 21, 22 and 23 and March 1, 2 and 3, a run that will include a Sunday matinee on March 3. Jerry Val Evans, long time AM actor and stalwart, will direct this play, his directing debut.

“The Shape of Things” is a contemporary drama, which continues LaBute’s exploration of the unsettling relationship that can develop between a man and a woman in “love”. The young male protagonist Adam is enchanted by a beautiful art student, Evelyn. First Adam thinks he has found himself but as the relationship develops and he is transformed by it, he fears he has lost his reality and his identity. It’s an ancient story indeed, as old as the Garden of Eden. “The Shape of Things” explores sexual themes and uses adult language and may not be appropriate for all ages.

Please check the attached poster art or the website’s events calendar for dates and performance times. As always, both the show and the delicious meal we provide an hour prior to performances are free of charge.
